Joint Working Partners - Racal and Melss |
RACAL
Instruments appoint MELSS as their exclusive System Integration
partners in India
Racal Instruments
(RI) is one of the leading test equipment and
test solution
companies with a world wide customer base. RI supply a comprehensive range
of products from individual test instruments to complete turn key test systems
(test equipment
and application test program sets).
What differentiates RI from other test equipment organisations is that we understand fully the requirements of the military and avionics market place and are geared up to provide life time support to our products which is often in excess of 25 years. No other test equipment supplier has proven to provide the same level of continuing support for the life time of the prime equipment supported by the test systems.
RI continue to provide full support for test systems which were originally delivered in the 1970s. One pertinent example of this level of commitment is that recently offered, in response to an RFQ, for a full mid life update of the India Seaking Test Systems originally delivered in the 1980s. This update programme will extend the life of the Sea King Test Systems by upwards of 15 years.
Racal Instruments have now appointed MELSS as their exclusive System Integration Partner in India. MELSS with their 20 years experience and 7 offices located in India will bring Racal Solutions to Indian customers.

These test systems are generally configured to provide a full serviceability test capability for the supported equipment, with diagnostics to a failing field replaceable module. Test systems capable of diagnosing faults to component level can also be provided in this format. The construction of the air portable test system makes it ideally suited for installation on board ship, giving ships the same level of test capability as depot workshops. These on board test facilities are capable of providing a comprehensive test facility for helicopter and the ship born, weapon, electronic warfare, navigation, and communication systems. |
Mobile Workshops:- | These systems are generally installed in vehicle mountable shelters and provide test facilities for first and second line field workshops. Automated test system offers industry-leading specifications for multimode and singlemode testing of short fiber assemblies |
QUEBEC CITY, CANADA,
March 6, 2003-EXFO
Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. announced the
availability of the IQS-12001B Cable
Assembly
Test System for multimode patchcord applications.
EXFOs Cable Assembly Test System, a key productivity tool for manufacturing
fiber assemblies and connectors, now automatically tests multimode (850/1300
nm) as well as singlemode fibers (1310/1550 nm or 1550/1625 nm) for connector
insertion loss and mandrel-free reflectance measurements.
This automated test system boasts best-in-class specifications for insertion
loss testing (multimode, ± 0.07 dB; singlemode, ± 0.03 dB) and
offers the best mandrel-free reflectance range in the industry (multimode, 10
to 45 dB; singlemode, 30 to 70 dB), even on the most difficult-to-test angle-polished
connectors (APCs).
This new Cable Assembly Test System is designed to maximize production
throughput and quality for multimode and singlemode short fiber assemblies such
as simplex, duplex, multifiber and bundle, said Étienne Gagnon,
Director of Product Management at EXFO. Its new multimode fiber testing
capabilities responds to growing demand for fibers in the datacom and enterprise
markets where the volume of data traffic is still on the rise due to the deployment
